I love a new year because it is a great time to review your life so far… especially last year and if you are not happy… make some serious changes in your life.

I’m talking serious… not like these guys ;).

The problem is with new year resolutions is they don’t last very long… probably about 2 weeks and then you are back into the grind and forgotten all those promises you have made to yourself. But that doesn’t do anybody any good at all, least of all yourself. So…

Here are 3 Ways To Stick To Your New Years Resolutions…

1) Make Your Goals Specific…

There is nothing worse then setting wishy washy goals that are impotent. Make them powerful, exciting, inspiring and specific. As Anthony Robbins said… “People are not lazy. They simply have impotent goals, that is, goals that do not inspire them.”

Change I want to go on a holiday this year to… “On March 14th - 30th my family and I will go to Hawaii and have the greatest time of our lives, enjoying the sun, sand and culture.” (just an example ;) ).

2) Set A Time For Your Goals…

As I wished my close online friends a happy new year… I asked them what they plan on achieving for 2008. Everybody had something that they wanted to have done, but none of them set a specific time frame. Always set a deadline, but it works the other way as well.

Let’s say you want to set a great habit of exercising 5 days a week (something I strongly recommend that everybody does). Well set yourself a specific deadline. “I will exercise for 45 minutes 5 days a week for the month of January.” Just stick to January… don’t make it the whole year… it’s too big. All you want to do is start a good habit and break your old one of inactivity. Commit to just January and it is much more achievable. If after one month you don’t feel better about yourself, then you can quit. But after I did this myself… I started a great habit and I feel better after I exercise… even though I still have to psyche myself up ;). Which leads me to tip 3.

3) Write ‘em Down… Make Yourself Accountable…

One of the best things I did in 2007 is having a friend I could work out with 2 times a week (we do weights together). When somebody is relying on you, then you are much more motivated to continue with your goals. So one of the best things that I can recommend to you to keep your new years resolutions is to write ‘em down, keep them visible and have some sort of accountability, either a friend, a great reward or a ‘punishment’ (never tried that one).

So be a goal orientated person, but make sure you stick to your goals, until the end and do something everyday that brings you closer to your goals.

All the best for your success in 2008,

Sincerely,

P.S. These 3 great tips apply to your online business as well. So don’t be shy ;).
