If you want to get instant traffic and instant recognition in your niches then you need to be involved in the most popular forums.
But as one of my students learnt you can’t just jump in and start posting articles in the forums (even good ones) to advertise your website. Marketers will get their a## flamed off if they make the wrong move in a public forum and this may ruin their reputation in that niche forever.
Here are 3 mistakes that you can make while marketing on niche forums.
1) No Introduction… No Warm Up…
Never go into a public forum and post anything to do with advertising for at least 20 posts. That means don’t use a signature (unless it’s just your name). Start off by just replying to posts… unless it is an introduction post, people need to know who you are first, and they need to which leads me to mistake number 2.
2) No Information… Crap Posts…
If you don’t have anything positive and useful to add to a forum post/topic then don’t post at all. If you want to be recognized as an expert then you have to post useful and practical INFORMATION. Pushing your product on people is spam. Give away some secrets and some practical advice and let your signature link tell the whole story.
3) Pretending To Be Somebody You Are Not…
Everything you do online needs to be totally transparent. You need to be a real person… with real proof that you are who you say you are… and that your product/information works. Telling lies, hiding behind a pen name, running away or arguing with somebody who challenges you will never make you any friends on a public forum.
Don’t make these mistakes and you will get more traffic and a better reputation from niche forums.
Here’s to your online success.
